Later, the grounds and original buildings were used in the filming of the movie, Godfather II in 1973. Shortly after the movie was made, a developer purchased the property and demolished the old main house to make room for the elite group of townhomes, now known as Fleur du Lac.

Today, the only structures used in the movie that still remain are the complex of old native stone boathouses with their wrought iron gates. If you take the Emerald Bay Cruise on the Tahoe Gal, the tour guide will point out the Fleur du Lac estates. It’s an easy land mark to identify from the water.

Fleur du Lac is an exclusive enclave of only twenty-two townhomes in this lakefront development. These mountain style townhomes are exquisitely maintained with incredible interiors and each unit has their own attached garage.

Fleur du Lac has wonderful amenities which include a pier, pool, tennis courts, outdoor spa, gym, children’s playground, lakefront clubhouse with kitchen and bar, lakefront meeting room, private boat slip for owner’s exclusive use in their marina, lake side bocce ball court, on-site concierge services for housekeeping, shopping, transportation and event planning are also all available.

Most of the Fleur du Lac townhomes are lakefront, but there are a few that are lakeview/garden view units. The Fleur du Lac condos that are for sale are multi-million dollar units. Monthly home owner fees were last reported at just under $4,000/month. Short-term vacation rentals are not permitted. The last sale in the complex was at $3.24 million on 12/31/2009. Currently Fleur du Lac has four (4) units for sale. They range in price from $3.050 million to $4.475 million.
