The Shortest Day of the Year, Thursday, December 22, 2011, Lake Tahoe – Truckee, California
Today, December 22, 2011 will be the shortest day of the year. This marks the winter solstice and the official beginning of the 2011-2012 winter season. I’m hoping that with the change from Fall to Winter, Lake Tahoe and Truckee will get the snow we all need, and want.
For those of you that long for more sunshine, after today, each day will become just a little bit longer, as we move back towards the longest day of the year, which will be on June 20, 2012. That’s only 181 days, or 4,344 hours, or 260,640 minutes, from today!
Until then, enjoy the snow in Tahoe!
