California Association of REALTORS® (CAR)
CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® – CAR: In California less than half of all licensees are REALTORS®. According to the CA DRE/BRE web site in 2017 there were approximately +/-415,000 real estate licensees (133,000 Broker Lic./ 282,000 Salesperson Lic.) in California, but only about 184,000, or 44% were are REALTORS® affiliated with the California Association of REALTORS®.
CAR is dedicated to a strict Code of Ethics, supports educational programs and year-round seminars, and helps members gain new skills and enhance their professionalism designations. CAR programs and services are designed to increase the professionalism of members and give them the tools they need to better serve their clients–the consumer.
CAR members also have access to the latest in legal information, access to numerous services, and programs to enhance their professionalism including real estate contract forms, transaction support documents, and other necessary business tools including: research data, top-notch publications, and cutting-edge technology.
In order to be a member of CAR real estate agents also have to be a member of the National Association of REALTORS®.
