Jury Duty in Lake Tahoe
It has been a busy summer here in Lake Tahoe. To say that my plate is full is an understatement, so when I received my jury duty notice here in Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago, I was a little panicked. The Tahoe real estate market has been hot this summer, and our buyers have been really active this season!
In the past thirty plus years that I have been eligible to vote and to be called for jury duty, this is the first time that I have ever received a Summons for Jury Service notice.
I’m excited to do my public service, but I’m also concerned as to where I’m going to find the extra time to make this happen right now. Postponement is not an option. I’ve waited a long time to be called for jury duty and I’m not going to let anyone down in my business by going and being a good citizen. I have a great team that is ready to go, but I still want to be there for everyone.
I have no idea what to expect in the jury duty selection process. I don’t know if they will need me. I have no idea what cases are coming up in Placer County, but I guess I’ll find out in a couple of days.
So this week on my to-do list will be:
-
Show Tahoe property to new buyers.
-
Follow-up on existing escrows for current clients.
-
Continue contract negotiations for my clients.
-
Show up for Jury Duty….
If you’ve been called to serve on jury duty I’d love to know how your experience went. I’ll keep you posted on mine!
