The Northstar ski resort area single family home prices have dropped by -48% this year, but the volume of Northstar homes has already exceeded the number of homes sold in 2010.Cash sale transactions have increased to 54% of the Northstar home market.The number of homes going into escrow with in the first 30 days of being listed in the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service (TSMLS) has decreased to 1 in every 5 sales.Distress sales (bank foreclosures- real estate owned (REO’s) and short sales) accounted for 18.8% of all homes sold in 2011, which is an increase over last year.
