It’s Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 here in North Lake Tahoe, California and across the entire United States of America.
If you’re in the North Lake Tahoe area today, there are two scheduled Veterans Day ceremonies.
If you’ll be in the Truckee area at 11 a.m. at Victory Plaza at the Corner of Spring Street and Donner Pass Road. There will be a ceremony to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed forces. After the ceremony there will be a light lunch served at the Veterans Hall on High Street.
If you’ll be near the greater Tahoe City area, the Boy Scout Troop 266 will celebrate Veterans Day beginning at 11 a.m. at the Trails End Cemetery in Tahoe City, which is just above the Tahoe City golf course on Fairway Drive.
Veterans Day is a national holiday to honor those that have served our country.
Today is Wednesday, November 11, 2015 – Veterans Day, and it is a day to be grateful and thankful. It’s a day to remember those that have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.
Every day should be the day that we say “Thank You” to all those that have served, are serving, or plan to serve. To the men and women who serve and protect our local communities, our states, and our country, be proud and say “Thank You” for keeping us safe. “Thank You” for being there.
We should say “Thank You” every day, so this Veterans Day take a moment and remember those that are no longer with us. Say “Thank You” to those that serve to protect us, and be thankful for the job they do each and every day.
