Northstar, CA 96161 Current Real Estate Market Trends November 2013Here are some current real estate market trends and data for the Tahoe ski resort community of Northstar in Truckee, California 96161 area for November 2013.  This is my local view of how the Northstar community is really doing in the housing market.

The Northstar area is a popular second home luxury ski resort community in the North Lake Tahoe area offering great recreational amenities and close proximity to the Village at Northstar.

The Northstar area has recreational amenities such as a seasonal pool and spa area, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course, mountain biking (summer) and what the area is really known for their downhill ski resort.

The Northstar community offers a good selection of high-end luxury mountain homes, along with some smaller Tahoe homes, cabins, and a good assortment of condo options.

Over 38% of all sales in the luxury Northstar home market were above $1,000,000, which is a good signal that the Northstar and Truckee luxury markets are on the upswing.

The Northstar community, along with entire Truckee – Lake Tahoe area real estate market has improved.

Northstar sellers who have been waiting for better market conditions may find that now is a good time to sell.  Northstar sellers can take advantage of the lower home inventories in the area, along with lower interest rates, and continued buyer demand for the Northstar area!

Tahoe Donner, CA 96161 Current Real Estate Market Trends November 2013Here are some current real estate market trends and data for the Tahoe Donner, Truckee, California 96161  area for November 2013.

This is my local view of how the Tahoe Donner community is really doing in the housing market.

The Tahoe Donner area is a popular second home resort community and is one of the largest planned unit developments in the United States with over 6,000 lots and over 60 miles of private roads.

The Tahoe Donner area has recreational amenities such as two pools, one of which is a year-around pool, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course, equestrian facilities, cross country ski areas and a downhill ski resort.

The Tahoe Donner community offers a good selection of high-end luxury homes, along with smaller Tahoe mountain homes, cabins, and a mix of condo options.

As of 11-17-2013 there was one home listed for sale in the Tahoe Donner area under $300,000.  There were no short sales, REO Bank Foreclosures, or Court Approval Listings.  While this will change on a daily basis, it is a clear indicator that the number of distressed sellers has gone away, and the low-end of the market is rising.

Over 60% of all sales in the Tahoe Donner community were above $500,000, and 28% of the total sales were over $700,000, which are good signs that the Tahoe Donner luxury market is becoming stronger.

The Tahoe Donner community, along with entire Truckee – Lake Tahoe area real estate market has improved, but there are still opportunities for the buyer that is ready to buy today!

XC Cross Country Ski Swap, Tahoe City, CA, Saturday, November 16, 2013Calling all Tahoe cross country skiers, this is your chance to buy, sell, or swap your cross country ski gear at the Annual Tahoe City XC Cross Country Ski Swap event this Saturday!

This is one of California’s largest cross country ski swap events and you won’t want to miss it.  If you have items you want to sell, you can register your items on Friday afternoon/evening from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tahoe XC Center at 925 Country Club Drive in Tahoe City, California, which is located in the Highlands subdivision near the Dollar Point area.

They will charge you a 15% commission fee on all items sold and it’s a great way to clean out your closet, get rid of unused and out-grown items, make some quick cash, and you’ll give someone else the chance to love your gear as much as you did.

Admission to the Tahoe City XC Cross Country Ski Swap is free on Saturday, and you’ll find winter clothing, ski equipment, skate and classic, snowshoes, telemark, light touring, boots, poles, hats, gloves, accessories, bikes, pull-behind sleds, and items you probably never thought of but could really use for the upcoming winter season.

XC Cross Country Ski Swap

When: Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pre-Registration is Friday, November 15, 2013 between 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Breakfast/Lunch will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon

Where:  Tahoe XC – Tahoe City Cross Country Center at 925 Country Club Drive, Tahoe City, CA 96145.

Cost:  Admission is FREE on Saturday

Cost:  Sellers will pay a 15% commission fee on all items sold.  Pre-registration is required the day before.

Volunteers Wanted, but you need to call ahead at 530-583-5475 and become a part of the event!

Squaw Valley, CA 96146 Current Real Estate Market Trends November 2013Here are some current real estate market trends and data for the Squaw Valley, California 96146 area for November 2013.  This is my local view of what this popular ski resort community of Squaw Valley is really doing in the housing market.

The Squaw Valley area is also known as Olympic Valley (home of the 1960 Winter Olympics).  Squaw Valley (Olympic Valley) and Alpine Meadows both share the same zip code of 96146.

Ski season is almost here and sellers are taking advantage of this premium time of year when buyers will be in the area with 24 homes listed for sale (as of 11-13-2013).  This is a great time of year for winter buyers to find the right Squaw Valley ski mountain home, or condo.  The selection is good in this ski resort community, and with a 30 day closing, right now you’ll still have most of the upcoming ski season to enjoy your new Tahoe property!

The high-end luxury market in Squaw Valley has been very strong.  Over 50% of all sales in the Squaw Valley community were above $1 million and 44.4% of all sales were above $1.75 million in sold price for 2013.

The Squaw Valley ski resort area, along with entire Lake Tahoe area real estate market has improved, but there are still great values to be found as the market recovers from recent lows!

Donner Lake Turkey Trot, Truckee, CA, Saturday, November 16, 2013Gobble, gobble! The leaves have turned bright yellow, gold, orange and red here in North Lake Tahoe and that means it time for some fall fun.  The ASC (Auburn Ski Club) Training Center will host the 37th Annual Donner Lake Turkey Trot run around Donner Lake in Truckee, California this Saturday, November 16, 2013 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the West End of Donner Lake!

This time of year is beautiful here in the Donner Lake area and if you’re up to the seven mile race, this is your chance to come out and enjoy November in the Tahoe-Truckee area.

Registration will be between 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.  Walkers will start the event off at 9:30 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. Children’s Mashed Potato Mile race, and the event ends with the 10:30 a.m. Trot!

The Donner Lake Turkey Trot is a fund raiser supporting the ASC Training Center for Junior cross country skiing programs.   If you’d like to learn more about the ASC visit www.AuburnSkiClub.org, or email info@Assoc.AuburnSkiClub.org, or call 530-426-3313.

You’ll have a fun day at the Donner Lake Turkey Trot and you’ll have a chance to win pumpkin pies and turkeys (raffle), not to mention bragging rights around the holiday table this year for participating.  The Awards will be given out at noon!
