If you enjoy listening to Bluegrass music, then you’ll want to add this event to your summer calendar!
On Friday, August 4, 2023 on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe at the Sugar Pine Point State Park in Tahoma, California will be the Big Bluegrass Benefit Concert!
The Sierra State Park Foundation is presenting this benefit fundraising concert for the upkeep at Sugar Pine Point State Park.
They have three popular Bluegrass Bands lined up to play at the event:
- Josh Brough Stringband
- IsMay
- Broken Compass Bluegrass
- Plus Special Guests
Craig and I have gone to this event in the past and we had a great time!
What a great way to spend a summer evening! Who doesn’t enjoy being outdoors and sipping on a cold beverage, while listening to some great Bluegrass music with our beautiful mountains, towering pine trees, the Alpen glow, with Lake Tahoe shinning through all of it?

- Bring blankets and bring/wear something warm (dress in layers). Our days are hot, but in the shade, or if a breeze come up off the lake, you’ll want something warmer to wear as temperatures can drop quickly in our area.
- Bring a Flashlight – There are no night street lights ,so when the concert is over you’ll want to find your way back to your car and check your area before you leave it, so bring a flashlight.
- Parking – Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged, or use public transportation.
