Nothing says it is spring in the Tahoe City area than the Annual Wine Tasting Benefit sponsored by the Kiwanis at the Sunnyside Resort in Tahoe City on Sunday, May 7, 2017!

After an epic winter of more than 700 inches of snowfall, signs of spring and summer are now all around us and we’re moving into our next season of fun!

One clear sign that our seasons have changed is the annual North Lake Tahoe Kiwanis Community Benefit Auction and Wine Tasting spring fund raising event.

Wine Tasting Benefit – Kiwanis at Sunnyside May 7 2017This is the 26th Annual Wine Tasting Benefit sponsored by the Kiwanis and, tomorrow, Sunday, May 7 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Tahoe City on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. they once again will pour great wines, sample wonderful brunch appetizers, and enjoy being here in North Lake Tahoe!

This event always sells out each year, so get your tickets early, but you can always try for a tick at the door.

The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe will offer goods and services for auction with an estimated value of over $50,000!

If you’re a shopper, or you like to be competitive, get ready to bid (live and silent auctions) on some great trips, golf and dinning packages, home maintenance, clothing, jewelry, accessories, art, wine, and many other wonderful items.

All proceeds go to benefit a wide range of local Tahoe community programs and in the past have benefited groups such as the Boys and Girls Club; North Tahoe High and Middle school sports and music programs; Excellence in Education Foundation; Arts for the Schools; Disabled Sports Far West USA; Food for local families in need; Concerts in the Park at Commons Beach; the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts; Annual four-year higher education scholarships; Big A (after school program); and Parents Night Out (childcare).

Toys for Tots, Sunnyside Resort – Tahoe City, California December 2013Tonight, Friday, December 6, 2013 is the Toys for Tots Sunnyside Resort and United States Marine Corps Reserve Collection Party at the Sunnyside Resort in Tahoe City, California from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage along with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign is officially underway in the North Lake Tahoe area.  Each year the goal is to collect as many toys for local Tahoe children in need.

You’ll find toy collection sites through-out the North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area in many local businesses.  You can bring your new, unwrapped toy to one of the four Toys for Tots kick-off parties, or you can drop off your new, unwrapped toys at any of the local businesses, including all Coldwell Banker offices, just look for the Toys for Tots banner in front of local businesses.

The Sunnyside Resort is the second of the four kick-off parties for the Toys for Tots collection parties.  I went last year, and I can tell you it was a lot of fun.

Santa will also be present for photos and handing out candy canes.

Cost:  Bring a new, unwrapped toy for children ages newborn to 17 years

(Adults Only).  Bring a new, unwrapped toy to this event and help local Tahoe children and have a fun evening out!

Wine Tasting – Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe, Sunnyside, May 5, 2013Get ready to enjoy some great wines and appetizers at the 22st Annual Kiwanis Community Benefit Auction and Wine Tasting spring gala.  This annual sell-out event will be held and hosted by Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City, California!

The Kiwanis Club of North Lake Tahoe will offer goods and services for auction.  Get ready to bid on some great trips, golf and dinning packages, home maintenance, clothing, jewelry, accessories, art, and many other wonderful items.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage along with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign is officially underway in the North Lake Tahoe area.  This year the goal is to collect 1,500 toys for local children in need.

Toys for Tots, Sunnyside Resort – Tahoe City, CaliforniaYou’ll find toy collection sites through-out the North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area in many local businesses.  You can bring your new, unwrapped toy to one of the four Toys for Tots kick-off parties, or you can drop off your new, unwrapped toys at any of the local businesses, including all Coldwell Banker offices.

The Sunnyside Resort is the first to host one of the four kick-off parties for the first Toys for Tots collection parties.  I went last year, and I can tell you it was a lot of fun.

This year Sunnyside will be providing free appetizers, desserts, cocoa, and refreshments.  Santa will also be present for photos and handing out candy canes.

Shopping for younger children is often easier, but older children need “toys/gifts” too.  For children 13 – 17 years in age, the organization suggests books, school supplies, make-up, science projects, soccer balls and nets, basket balls, board games, curling irons, blow dryers, back packs, and when in doubt, you can always write a check (make it payable to “Toys for Tots Tahoe-Truckee”) and give a monetary donation.  Any new, unwrapped toy/gift is greatly appreciated.

Giving comes in so many different ways, this is your chance to make a difference for the local Tahoe-Truckee area children so come out and have some fun at the Sunnyside Resort Toys for Tots event.

Nothing says summer time in Lake Tahoe like being on the Sunnyside Resort lakeside deck.  Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, in the Lake Tahoe Park – Sunnyside neighborhood, the Sunnyside Resort is a great year-around place to get a drink, or have dinner, but in the summer, hanging out on the Sunnyside Resort lakeside deck is one of the best places to be.  

The Sunnyside Resort deck is one of my favorite places to be in the summer.  I love the smell of the hamburgers on the grill, people laughing, the boats driving up to the marina, and of course the view of Lake Tahoe.  Any drink you order here is always better.  It’s a great place for a casual lunch on the deck, or to just meet friends and have a drink and appetizers.  Give into temptation and have the fried zucchini fingers, they’re a local favorite.
