The Tahoe Woods neighborhood of Tahoe City, California is located approximately 2 miles south west of the “Y” in Tahoe City on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, California.
The Tahoe Woods neighborhood is very small subdivision with only 83 lots. This area has nice wide streets, older, smaller Tahoe cabins, along with larger, newer mountain homes. Tahoe Woods, like Talmont, has a few homes that have good views of Lake Tahoe.Finding a lake view home that is close to Tahoe City on the West Shore that is not a split lakefront, or lakefront property is harder to do than in other areas of Lake Tahoe because of the very limited supply.
This area is very desirable as the homes have membership in the Lake Tahoe Park Homeowner Association (also known as “Tahoe Park HOA”) gated beach area. Membership into the Lake Tahoe Park HOA can only be gained by land ownership in their designated area and adds to the overall market value and desirability of the area.
The Lake Tahoe Park Homeowners Association gives owners access to over 850’ feet of Lake Tahoe Shore line, a gated beach, BBQ/picnic areas, two shared piers, buoy rental option, and kayak storage rental option, just to name a few of the wonderful benefits of the group. This area is located at 1700 Sequoia Ave, next William Kent Campground Public Beach area, and the Sunnyside Resort and Marina.
Like most West Shore neighborhoods, Tahoe Woods close proximity to Tahoe City and Lake Tahoe recreational activities such as boating, hiking, biking (dirt and paved trails), tennis, golf, skiing, shopping, and restaurants makes this a great area to have a vacation-resort second home.

Mountain home and cabin prices are up for the Tahoe Woods, Tahoe City, California area. What is really surprising is how few sales occurred in 2010 and 2009 for this desirable neighborhood. The current median average sales price is currently at $735,000.
Cash sale transactions for the Tahoe Woods neighborhood improved to 20%, but is well below the regional average of 34%.
The number of homes going into escrow with in the first 30 days of being listed in the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service (TSMLS) was at 20%, which is also below the regional average of 34%.
