One of my favorite places to eat breakfast, or lunch is the Fire Sign Café in Tahoe City, California. This out-of-the way café is located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in the Sunnyside – Tahoe Park neighborhood, right on Highway 89 South.

This is a local favorite and you’ll find yourself in good company there. On the weekends, expect to wait at this popular local restaurant, especially in the summer if you are looking for a table on the deck.

What I really like about the Fire Sign Café, apart from their friendly, great fast service, and good food is they serve breakfast all day long from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to having breakfast all day long, and while the Fire Sign Café offers over 39 breakfast options, I’m a die-heart fan of the Veggie Benedict. What’s not to love about two poached eggs sitting on top of avocado, tomatoes, and toasted English muffins smothered in Hollandaise sauce? What to be more indulgent? Try one of their single, buttermilk, giant pancakes loaded with butter and maple syrup. Yummy!

If you’re not interested in breakfast, the Fire Sign Café has over 28 different Burger and Sandwich combinations, and if you’re in the mood for a salad, they have 8 different salads for you to choose from.

You’ll find that the staff is very friendly and they aren’t afraid of substitutions. So if you don’t find exactly what you are looking for, or have specific dietary needs, there is a really good chance with a few changes, you’ll have the perfect dish.
