Guitar Strings vs Chicken Wings – Squaw Valley, Friday, Sept 11, 2015

Chicken wings and music lovers will enjoy tonight at the Village at Squaw Valley as six (6) restaurants and five (5) bands will face-out in this annual competition of sound versus taste!

If you’ll be in the North Lake Tahoe area today, or early this evening, check out this fun event that will benefit the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science.

Five bands will battle for $250 in gift certificates and the six restaurants will fight for the title and trophy of best Wings.

It’s time to celebrate the beginning of fall with the Guitar Strings vs Chicken Wings competition in Squaw Valley this evening Friday, September 11, 2015

Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley continues to offer fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

So who will be at tonight’s event fighting out for the title of best Wings: Cornice Cantina, 22 Bistro, Mamasake, Rocker@Squaw, Fireside Pizza and the Auld Dubliner.

The music line-up is great with the following bands fighting for the title of best strings: Drop Theory, Matt Reardon & Friends, Space Heaters, Coburn Station and Electric Jimmy.

Here is the music line-up:

Drop Theory 6-7 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. location: 22 Bistro
Matt Reardon & Friends 6-7 p.m. and 8 -9 p.m. location: Mamasake
Space Heaters 7-8 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. location: Rocker@Squaw
Coburn Station 7-8 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. location: Fireside Pizza
Electric Jimmy 7-8 p.m. and 9-10 p.m. location: The Auld Dubliner

Cornice Cantina will battle for the best wings from a location within the Village at Squaw Valley. After the even they will be back at their restaurant location offering more live music.

Our weather has warmed up and right now it’s 87 degrees in Tahoe City, so our early evening should be just perfect for an evening outside, but I would still bring a sweater, or light jacket just in case so you’ll have a great evening in Squaw Valley.

If you want to vote for either the best wings, or band voter registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. at the Village at Squaw Valley.

Four (4) wings will be sold for $5, and there will be drink specials at each featured restaurant/pub.

The cost to get in? Only $5, and that is a donation to support the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science, which is a non-profit group that is trying to educate the understanding of the natural history of the Lake Tahoe region.

What a great way to support a wonderful group and make a fun evening out of the donation!

Cost: $5 Admission

Food and Beverage: 4 wings for $5, other beverage specials available – prices will vary by restaurant.
