Leap Year – February 29 2024 – North Lake Tahoe
It’s hard to believe that another four years has slipped by!
In 2020, I was excited about the extra day, and I was having fun and enjoying a new decade!
Little did I know that is less than thirty days, life as we had known it would be upended and forever changed.
Yes, the pandemic would be front and center and little things like going to the coffee shop would become the highlight of our day, even if it meant wearning a mask, gloves, and standing more than six feet away from the next person in line!
So here we are again Leap Year – February 29, 2024 – North Lake Tahoe! What will you do with your extra day?
How will you make this extra day count? So may possibilities, so many things to do, or will it be just another day for you?
Sometime late last year I realized that 2024 would be a Leap Year. Yes this happens every fours year, and if you live to be 100, that means get 25 leap days through-out your life time, that doesn’t seem like a lot, when you think about it that way, which means making the most out of the leap days you get in life should be a priority.
When I did my math, I realized that each leap year I now enjoy is really more special than the last.
My plan for today is not really a new one, but I do hope to turn my extra day into a memorable one!
We’ll have dinner out, and check out the Lake Tahoe Alpenglow at sunset tonight if the storm hasn’t blocked it out. We’ll toast our day together. That’s the plan if it isn’t a blizzard snow storm tonight.
Sure it’s a simple plan, to make something special does not require a complicated plan. We’re at a point in lives where we’re happy to just enjoy what we have around us every day and toast good health and happiness to each other!
If we have to make our champagne toast inside, and eat at home, we’re okay with that plan too! The point is to acknowledge that we’ve gotten an extra day, and we should appreciate it!
Two Leap Year’s ago, we started writing down our hopes, dreams, goals – you know a mini-bucket list of things we’d like to do before the next Leap Year arrives.
This will be our second time opening up our lists from four years ago, and seeing what we did, what we didn’t do, and what each other had hoped to enjoy,
It will be fun to read our sealed notes from February 29, 2020 and we’ll see how we did.
Craig (my better half in life) finds it impressive that I remember where I stored these sealed note cards from four years ago, and he’s not wrong, finding those cards is challenging!
We’ll make new mini-bucket list cards, and we’ll seal them up and then in four years from now on February 29, 2028 we’ll open them up and see what the other one wanted to do, and which ones we did complete on the list!
The adventure in life is the journey. My wish for anyone reading this post is that your next four years be filled with fun, joy, good health, and safe travels!
How will you spend your extra day, Leap Year – February 29, 2024?
Happy Leap Day!
