Oktoberfest in Tahoe City, Sat., Oct. 4, 2014
It’s time to get out your lederhosen and get ready for the Tahoe City annual Oktoberfest event which will be held at a new location this year and has moved to the Gatekeeper’s Museum at 130 West Lake Blvd., in Tahoe City, California, this Saturday, October 4, 2014 from noon to 4 p.m.
The Gatekeeper’s Museum is located next to Fanny Bridge and for those who are new to the area, Fanny Bridge crosses the outlet to the Truckee River on Highway 89 South and is right across the street from the Bridge Tender restaurant.
We have a nip in the air, and temperatures are expected to be in the mid 60’s this weekend. In the sunshine it will feel warm and wonderful. In the shade, or if a light breeze comes up, you’ll want a jacket, so wear layers so you can be comfortable as you enjoy the Oktoberfest event in Tahoe City this Saturday.
I can’t think of a better way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon in Lake Tahoe than by listening to live music (The Space Heaters and Traditional German Music), having an ice cold beer, and watching those who enter the wiener toss go for the win. Yes, I said it, the annual wiener toss, along with other fun games and crafts for the kids.
In addition to live music, beer on tap, games, there will also be brats and other German BBQ food items to select from.
Even if beer and brats aren’t your thing, just spending the afternoon outside at the Gatekeeper’s Museum grounds here in Tahoe City will be a great way to spend the day.
