One of our favorite places in Tahoe to have drinks, appetizers, and dinner is at the River Ranch in Alpine Meadows, California. In the winter this is the place to meet up after a day of skiing. Good food, drinks, and a great atmosphere are what this local restaurant, bar, and lodge are known for.

In the summer time, you’ll love sitting out on the large River Ranch deck-patio that looks out at the Truckee River. The Truckee River is impressive here, and it’s fun to watch the rafters end their rafting trip here.

Their menu is extensive and there is something for everyone; ranging from the casual bar menu to the more formal dining room choices. Located on the Truckee River, the River Ranch has been a local institution for over 40 years.

The River Ranch is open daily, but their hours of operation due vary depending on the season, so call, or check out their website for their current schedule. You’ll find the River Ranch at the corner of Highway 89 South and Alpine Meadows Road (Approximately 3 miles North of Tahoe City), Alpine Meadows, California 530.583.4264
