On Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. you’ll have the opportunity to drop off unused, unwanted, and/or expired medications at two locations in the Tahoe- Truckee area. The RX Medication Take-Back Day in Tahoe City and Truckee, CA is a great way to properly dispose of medications.

Most people think that by tossing old, or unwanted medications down the toilet, or in the trash they using the most effective way to get rid of these items and protect their household.

The problem with these methods is they can damage the environment. Water treatment removes and reduces some types of pharmaceuticals, but it is not a complete removal, and low levels of medications can still be in the water.
