There are so many reasons to shop local and support the North Lake Tahoe business community. Not only are you supporting local employers, saving gas money by staying in the area, you’re also putting your money back into the local community, as dollars spent here, tend to stay here.

According to the www.VisitTahoeCity.org web site on their Shop Local Contest information “Researchers have proven that for every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend the same amount in a national chain, only $43 stays here and if you spend it online there is NO BENEFIT to our local community.” Keep your holiday shopping dollars in our state, county, and community!

Here’s how you can shop to win:

Contest Period – Black Friday, Friday, November 23, 2012 through Christmas, December 25, 2012
Pick up a Shop Local Contest Card at participating retailers in Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village, Village at Northstar, and the Village at Squaw Valley.
Participating retailers are listed online at www.ShopLocalNorthTahoe.com
For every $25 that you spend at a participating retailer, you’ll receive a sticker for your contest card. Turn in your card with 3 or more stickers and you’re entered to win.
Contest cards with 13 stickers or more will be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing.
Non-winning contest cards from the Grand Prize drawing and all other contest cards with three or more stickers are eligible to win additional prizes.
Turn your contest cards in by Friday, January 11, 2013 at the locations listed on the card and you will be entered into the drawing.
Drawing winners will be contacted and announced in January 2013.
