Tahoe City Farmers’ Market – 2014 Schedule

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to the return of the seasonal Tahoe City Farmers’ Market! This is a sure sign that summer has arrived in Lake Tahoe and seeing the signs on Thursday morning letting everyone know that the Tahoe City Farmers’ Market is once again open for business is good news for everyone who enjoys this local event.

You may not know that our local Tahoe City Farmers’ Market program will begin on Thursday, May 22, 2014, the week before Memorial Day weekend, and will be open each Thursday morning (weather permitting), well past Labor Day through Thursday, September 25, 2014.

Local farmers and merchants from the greater Auburn Foothill area and the North Lake Tahoe area bring in their goods for sale into the downtown area of Tahoe City, California.

Items that you may find depending on the season are breads, pastries, jams, vinegar, olive oils, artesian cheeses, meat, fish, honey, flowers, herbs, onions, beets, kale, chard, arugula, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, artichokes, asparagus, apples, strawberries, blue berries, black berries, apricots, peaches, depending on the season you’ll find a great assortment of fresh food, not to mention vendors.

There are also non-perishables for sale which may include clothing, jewelry, soaps, lotions, and there is always the surprise of a new vendor!

If you you’re in the mood for something to eat right now, you’ll find specialty food vendors, which vary from week to week, but you may find crepes, kettle corn, cupcakes, and Indian food.

This Farmers’ market group is part of the Foothill Farmers’ Market and they also provide Farmers’ Market events in the Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Folsom, Auburn and now for the summer season on Thursday mornings in Tahoe City, and Truckee (twice a week) Tuesday Mornings at the Truckee River Regional Park, and on Thursday evening at the Truckee Thursday events.

You’ll find the Tahoe City Farmers’ Market open every Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

Tahoe City Farmers Market moves to the Tahoe Lake Elementary, 375 Grove Street

June 26, 2014 – August 21, 2014

Tahoe City Farmers Market returns back to Commons Beach August 28, 2014 – September 25, 2014

If you’ll be in the greater Tahoe City area on any Thursday between May 23 through the end of September, watch for the signs in downtown Tahoe City and make sure to stop by the Tahoe City Farmers Market! It’s a great way to spend a few hours and enjoy being here in Lake Tahoe.
