Homes for sale in McKinney Shores, Homewood, CA 96141 The McKinney Shores neighborhood of Homewood, California is located approximately seven (7) miles south of the “Y” in Tahoe City on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.

The McKinney Shores area is a very small, West Lake Tahoe neighborhood that is located between the Homewood Ski Resort area and Chambers Landing.  There are approximately 117 lots in this area.  This West Shore neighborhood is close to Lake Tahoe recreational activities such as boating, hiking, biking (dirt and paved trails), tennis, golf, skiing, shopping, and restaurants.

The McKinney Shores neighborhood is a mix of larger, newer luxury mountain homes, along with smaller, older Tahoe cabins.  There are a limited number of lakefronts and split lakefront properties in this neighborhood.

Homes for sale in McKinney Shores, Homewood, CA 96141 Most of the owners in the McKinney Shores neighborhood are members in the local home owners group known as McKinney Shores Property Owners Association (MSPOA) that is very desirable with its own gated beach area, shared pier, and buoys, located directly off Highway 89 South.  The annual MSPOA fee is $410 for 2013 and if you use one of the MSPOA buoys, there is an additional charge of $225/year making it very affordable to get Lake Tahoe access for home owners that have a boat.

This vacation-resort, second home neighborhood has nice wide streets, a good mountain feel to it, and when it snows, home owners really know that they are living near the Homewood Ski resort area on the West Shore.

Free Music Concerts in Northstar – Summer 2013There are so many fun, free events scheduled for this summer in the Lake Tahoe – Truckee area this year it will be hard to do everything!

The free music concerts in Northstar on Saturday and Sunday afternoons are more free events to add to your schedule.

The live music events at Northstar began the first weekend in June, and will continue through the end of August.  If you’re looking for a place to just sit down and enjoy some music outdoors, check out the free afternoon concerts the Village at Northstar.

Listen, dance, or just relax by enjoying a fun afternoon at the Village at Northstar.  This free fourteen week music concert series will offer a variety of music that all ages will enjoy.  You’ll find the free Northstar music concerts at the Village at Northstar  on the Village stage on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.!

What could be more fun than a day of sunshine, music by Drinking with Clowns, hot chili and cold beer, along with fun activities, hot dogs and ice cream for the kids?

This is a fun event and it’s a great way to enjoy a beautiful summer day up here in the greater Truckee area.

Tahoe City Solstice Festival, June 20 - 23, 2013If you’re looking for a reason to head to Tahoe City this weekend, how about the 8th Annual Tahoe City Solstice Festival?

This is a great way to take a break from the summer heat and enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe.  Tahoe City will be loaded with a number of fun events this coming weekend, starting with the Classic Car Show in downtown Tahoe City on Thursday evening.

On Friday, you can attend the Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance, but pace yourself, you’ve got two more big events to hit before the weekend is over.

On Saturday the popular Tahoe City Wine Walk returns with over 30 different wine, beer, vodka, or tequila tasting stations, food, and shopping specials.

Even if you miss the first three days of fun, on Sunday afternoon the first of the Tahoe City free outdoor Concerts at Commons Beach will be held, and officially kick-off the summer season here in Tahoe City!

  • ·       Friday, June 21, 2013 7 p.m. – The Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance – Come on down to the Bridgetender and have some fun, while helping to raise funds for the upcoming 4th of July Tahoe City Fireworks!
  • ·       Saturday, June 22, 2013 – Noon – 4 p.m. The 8th Annual Tahoe City Wine Walk Event Get ready to walk, sip wine, snack and shop at the 8th Annual Tahoe City Wine Walk event.  Tickets are on sale now, and will be available the day of the event for $45 (cash only) per person (must be 21+)
  • ·       Sunday, June 23, 2013 – 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The Concerts at Commons Beach This is the first event in the free outdoor summer concerts in Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City.  Bring your chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets for this kick-off event!  Cost is FREE!  All ages welcome.

Our temperatures in the Tahoe City area are expected to be in the mid- 70’s, this weekend, with clear, sunny blue skies, which should be perfect for all of the upcoming events!
