Tree Lighting – Kings Beach, CaliforniaIf you’re looking for some holiday cheer, check out the annual Holiday Tree lighting event this Friday, December 7, 2012 in downtown Kings Beach, California.

Come out and have some holiday fun in downtown Kings Beach as the community comes out to celebrate the lighting of the Holiday Tree at the North Tahoe Event Center.

Not only will they light the Holiday Tree, but after the outdoor tree lighting countdown, there will be craft stations, hot coco, homemade soup, and you can get your photo taken with Santa inside the conference center.  Be sure to dress warmly for the outdoor portion of the event.   This event is free to the public.

Where: Tahoe North Conference Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, California (downtown Kings Beach)

When:  Friday, December 7, 2012 – 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.   Tree Lighting will be at 5 p.m. so don’t be late!

Cost:  FREE – Open to the Public

I went to the Kings Beach Holiday Tree Lighting event last year and it was a lot of fun.  Take a look!

For those that may have missed the announcement in the Sierra Sun last Friday, due to the heavy rain and poor weather conditions, the Holiday Tree Lighting event scheduled in Truckee, California for Friday, November 30, 2012 was cancelled and rescheduled for this coming Friday, December 7, 2012.  Same schedule and times, just a different day!

Take advantage of these free local North Lake Tahoe events.  It’s a great way to catch the holiday spirit and have some fun!

Holiday Tree Lighting at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe Get ready to take your holiday tree lighting celebrations to the next level!  The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in the beautful Northstar ski resort area will be lighting their holiday tree on Saturday, December 1, 2012, and the public is invited.

This holiday event promises to a lot of fun.  The Ritz-Carlton is synonyms with luxury and their holiday tree lighting event should be wonderful.

In addition to lighting their holiday tree, they will offer activities, which include s’mores with a marshmologist, hot chocolate, cookie decorating, ornament making and a live performance by the Boys and Girls Club.

This Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe holiday tree lighting event is free, and open to the public.  Everyone is invited to bring a non-perishable item for the Project MANA Food Drive.

When:  Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Schedule of Events:

4:30 p.m. The Marshmologist arrives from the slopes

4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Cookie Decorating, Ornament Making, S’Mores at the Fire Pit

5:30 p.m. Performance by the Boys and Girls Club

Tree Lighting after the Boys and Girls Club

Admission:  FREE – Attendees are invited to bring a non-perishable item for Project MANA.  Items needed are peanut butter, canned meats, dried amd cammed beans, rice, pasta and sauce, cereals, oatmeal, canned fruit and vegetables.

After the holiday event, the Ritz-Carlton’s signature restaurant, Manzanita, created by Traci Des Jardins, a James Beard Award winning chef will feature a special three-course prix fixe menu for $65 per person.  For reservations call 530.562.3050.

Alpine Meadows is known for its beautiful mountain setting and small-town resort feel.  Serious skiers love the challenge of the mountain and excellent snow conditions.

Alpine Meadows is known for its great winter skiing, but Alpine Meadows property owners also have access to the Alpine Springs Community Park which provides great summer activities such as a swimming pond and beach area, BBQ area, tennis courts, and volleyball court area.

Alpine Meadows is a wonderful area to own a vacation-resort second home because it gives provides owners some distance from commercial developments, yet it is close enough to still enjoy all that Squaw Valley, Tahoe City, and Lake Tahoe have to offer.

Alpine Meadows has had 19 single family homes sales for 2012.  Alpine Meadows single family home sales prices have increased by +17.7% to an average median homes sales price of $565,000.

Cash sale transactions for the Alpine Meadows home market have decreased to 32%, which is close to the Tahoe-Regional average of 34%, or 1 out of every 3 home sales.

Distress sales (bank foreclosures- real estate owned (REO’s) and short sales) have improved and now only account for 5% of all homes sold in 2012, which is an improvement over 2011, and 2010 distressed levels.
