Santa's Party - Tahoe City Saturday December 10 2016This year the party is twice the winter fun with Santa, at Santa’s Party this Saturday, December 10, 2016, followed by the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park Grand Opening of the Ice Rink, which will follow at 1 p.m.!

Santa will arrive in style, on his fire truck at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park in Tahoe City  on Saturday morning!

The Rotary Club of Tahoe City and the Tahoe City Public Utility District will be hosting its 17th Annual Santa’s Party and it should be a lot of fun for everyone.

All children ages pre-school to 9 years old are invited for a day of free sledding, along with a pancake breakfast (pancakes, sausage, and hot beverages) and Santa will be handing out gifts.  You may remember this past event as Sledding with Santa, so get ready to have some winter fun!

Santa will make a grand entrance, and the North Tahoe High School Jazz Band will play holiday music, along with Christmas caroling.

In addition to getting to talk with Santa, there will be live music, along with warm drinks and food.

Where: Tahoe City Winter Sports Park (Also known as the Tahoe City Golf Course in the summer),

251 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City, California.

When:  Saturday, December 10, 2016 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Santa’s Party

Tahoe City Ice Skating Rink – Grand Opening – dedication, ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. open free skating from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost:  FREE (Donations are encouraged and accepted for Santa’s Party), Free ice skating from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..  Ice skate rental fee does apply if you don’t have your own skates.

The Rotary Club of Tahoe City and the Tahoe City Public Utility District are able to put this annual event in Tahoe City along with a lot of help from the community and thanks: Sierra Sun, Safeway, SaveMart, Sierra Sun, Tahoe Truckee Lumber, Geared for Games, Cafe Zenon, The Tahoe City Winter Sports Park, The Truckee Highway Patrol, The placer County Sheriff’s Department, and the North Tahoe Fire Department.

This year following Santa’s Party, the grand opening of the seasonal ice skating rink at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park will follow at 1 p.m.

The ribbon cutting ceremony and donor recognition will begin at 1 p.m.  Free ice skating (cost for skate rentals if you don’t have your own skates) and celebrity guest Olympic Gold Metal Winner and Chief Mountain Host of Squaw Valley Jonny Moseley will be there to celebrate the new ice rink in Tahoe City!

The Tahoe City Ice Rink grand opening, along with Santa’s Party is open to the entire North Lake Tahoe community, and it’s free, so come out and have a day of fun.

Fall Festival - Tahoe City Oct 15 2016The is a nip in the air and the leaves are turning color.  It’s that time of year when pumpkins, scare crows, and fall is every where you look in Lake Tahoe.

If you’ll be up in the greater Tahoe City area on Saturday, October 15, 2016, be sure to take some time to be at the  Fall Festival – Tahoe City Oct 15 2016, a pre-Halloween holiday event here in Tahoe City, California.

This year the Tahoe City Annual Harvest Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch event will take place at the Rideout Community Center on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in the Timberland neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This is a great, local family fun, Tahoe City community event that will be fun for all ages.

There will be a lot to do and see. The children will have a great time with the Pumpkin Patch, Carnival games, Games, Hay Rides, Food, Petting Zoo, and it wouldn’t be a Fall Festival with out a Costume Contest!

Fall Festival - Tahoe City Oct 15 2016Now our weather tomorrow may not be the best, as they are forecasting rain, but if that should happen, they will move the event inside into the gymnasium, so no one will miss out on the fun!

If you have missed some of the other fun fall events in North Lake Tahoe  this year like the Tahoe City Oktoberfest, or the Squaw Valley Oktoberfest over the past few weeks you still have a chance to enjoy some fall, pre-holiday Halloween fun here in the greater Tahoe City area at this year’s annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch event.

Cost: All Inclusive Activity bracelet $15; Individual game/ride tickets may also be available the day of event.  Note:  If it rains and the event is moved inside the activity bracelet cost will be reduced in price.

Spring Fiesta - Tahoe City - May 7 2016It is the first Spring Fiesta in Tahoe City May 7 2016 and you don’t want to miss out on the local fun this weekend!

Did you miss out on celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Thursday?  Maybe you had so much fun you’re ready to do it again?

Either way, get ready to have some fun at the Spring Fiesta in Tahoe City, California.

It’s that time of year when our ski season is almost over (yes, Squaw Valley will be open until Memorial Day Weekend this year), and we’ve begun that transition to the next season. Almost everyone is now getting ready for the summer season which is right around the corner here in Lake Tahoe.

If you’ll be up in the greater Tahoe City area on Saturday, May 7, 2016, be sure to take some time to check out the first ever Spring Fiesta, a spring event here in Tahoe City, California.

This year the Tahoe City Spring Fiesta event will take place at the Rideout Community Center on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in the Timberland neighborhood from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This is a great, local family fun, Tahoe City community event that will be fun for all ages.

There will be the All You Can East Tacos, music, games, pinatas, and more.  If you are over the age of 21, the Tahoe City Rotary Club will be serving beer and margaritas.

If you have missed some of the other fun winter events in North Lake Tahoe  this is your chance to get back up to our area and enjoy some  Tahoe City fun.

We’ve had a great winter season and as we transition into spring here in the Lake Tahoe – Truckee area this year you’ll find that our snow storms continue to make for great spring skiing conditions, and that the snow has begun to melt away on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.

Depending on the neighborhood some of the bike paths are clear on the North Shore and around the Tahoe City area.

While our evenings are still cold, day time temperatures have been in the 50’s to 60’s and on a clear blue day with our sunshine, it makes for a great day to be outside!

For those that will be headed to the Tahoe City Easter Egg Hunt, you’ll want to dress in layers for the 10 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt starting time here in Tahoe City, California!  In addition to hunting for eggs, there will be games, music, face painting prize raffle and more!

If you’ll be up in the greater Tahoe City, West Lake Tahoe, or North Lake Tahoe area this coming weekend you’ll want to check out this local event.

This year the Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City, California on Saturday morning, March 26, 2016.

Even if hunting for eggs is not your thing, you can still enjoy the morning down at Commons Beach, which is a beautiful, lakefront park in downtown Tahoe City.  You’ll find it directly across from the Cobblestone Mall, which is celebrating its 50th year in business!

This year’s Easter Egg hunt promises to be a good one, so if you have a little one who enjoys hunting for Easter Eggs, or you just enjoy watching those in the hunt, this is a fun event to be at.  What a fun setting to be hunting for colorful eggs with beautiful Lake Tahoe as your background view!

An Elegant Affair – Tahoe City, November 20, 2015For almost forty years the Tahoe City area has kicked off the holiday season with An Elegant Affair!  This year is the 39th Annual An Elegant Affair, which is a fund-raiser for the North Tahoe Boosters Club.

Just like turning your clocks back in the fall, on the Friday evening before the week of  Thanksgiving and the official kick-off of the year-end holiday season, the Elegant Affair has been held in downtown Tahoe City, California.

It’s one of those annual charity | fundraising events that I look forward to each year.  There is just something about getting together running into old friends, neighbors and past clients that reminds me of how thankful I am to live in such a beautiful place.  Throw in wine tasting and appetizers made from some of the North Lake Tahoe areas best restaurants and catering companies that just puts me in a great mood and gets me ready for the upcoming holiday season for me in the North Lake Tahoe area.

This year the 39th Annual Elegant Affair event will happen today, Friday, November 20, 2015 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Boatworks Mall in downtown Tahoe City, California.

The North Tahoe Boosters organization puts on a wonderful evening of tasting fine wines, beers, and gourmet appetizers to raise money for the North Tahoe High and Middle School Athletics.   There is also a silent auction and 100% of the events proceeds will go to support the North Tahoe Boosters and their programs.

You many not know, or appreciate the hard work and effort that the North Tahoe Boosters Club does to support Tahoe’s local sports programs, but as school budgets have been cut back, many costs fall back onto the students and their families.  The North Tahoe Boosters Club helps cover the costs for many items like uniforms, equipment, travel expenses, and without their financial support, many programs would just not happen.

You remember what it was like to be in middle, or high school and how important those after-school programs were to you.  This is your opportunity to be a part of helping others have those same types of experiences by supporting this fund-raising event.

In addition to the after-school programs, the NT Boosters also give out annual scholarships to seniors who have participated in sports at North Tahoe, so their support of the local Tahoe youth occurs on many levels.

This annual event, An Elegant Affair, is held inside at the Boatworks Mall on both levels with wine, beer, and local restaurants setting up tasting stations around the mall. Holiday wear is encouraged and black tie is optional, but the truth is, in Tahoe City casual wear, including jeans is okay too!  So don’t let the dress code keep you from showing up at this great, local event!

I’ve attended this event over the years, and we have tickets to go tonight, so if you see me, be sure to say hello!

For those of you still looking for a reason to go to this years’ wine tasting event, don’t forget the silent and door prize?  Bring your checkbooks, or cash because you’re going to find some great silent auction items to bid on.  What could be more fun than wine tasting and shopping at a silent auction and all for a great cause?

This year the event organizers will have twenty-eight (28) local Tahoe-Truckee restaurants and twenty-two (22) fine wineries and two (2) breweries.  If you love wine tasting and are looking for a way to kick-off your holiday season while supporting a good local organizations this is the event for you.

When:  Friday, November 20, 2015, Starting at 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Where:  Boatworks Mall, 760 North Lake Blvd., Tahoe City, California

Cost:  $55 Ticket / $90 per Couple.

This event sells out each year, so get your tickets now.  You can purchase tickets on-line at www.NorthTahoeBoosters.org (online sales will stop at 4 p.m. on the day of the event), or in person at the Hacienda, Rosie’s Café, The Store, or at the door at the Boatworks Mall on the day of the event beginning at 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Even if you’re past the 5 p.m. deadline and you still want to go, show-up with cash in hand to buy a ticket right there on the spot! If they have any tickets left, it will be your lucky night!
