Tahoe City Free Summer Movies – 2013

If you haven’t started making your summer plans to be here in Tahoe City this year, now is the time. Some of the fun things to do here during the summer are going to one of the free movies that are offered at Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City, California for the 2013 season.

If you’ll be here in June, July, or August on a Wednesday evening you’ll need to make plans to go to the outdoor movie at Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City.

The Tahoe City movie will begin at dusk on the beach and you’re going to have a lot of fun. All of the movies are either PG or PG-13.

Here is the 2013 movie schedule presented by the Tahoe City Public Utility District:

June 26: Chasing Mavericks – PG

July 10: Sandlot – PG

July 17: Rise of the Guardians – PG

July 24: Wreck it Ralph – PG

July 31: Austin Powers in Goldmember – PG

August 7 Hotel Transylvania – PG

August 14: Oz the Great and Powerful – PG

August 21: Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax – PG

The free summer movies in Tahoe City at Commons Beach are all subject to good weather conditions. For inclement weather information -Tune to KTKE Radio (101.5fm) for the 5p.m. announcements for the movies.

Here are some Tips for Enjoying the Movie. Movie Attendees are encouraged to bring:

Only low back chairs.
Bring sleeping bags and beach towels if you’ll be on the ground. Remember the ground can be damp, so make sure you have the right things to put down on the ground for an enjoyable evening.
Bring blankets and jackets (our summer evening and nights can become cool and if a breeze comes up off the lake things will really cool down).
The fun starts around 7 p.m. so come early for food and to watch them set up the movie screen, and watch the incredible alpenglow over Lake Tahoe before the movie begins!
You are allowed to bring your own snacks, so if you’re on a diet, you can still stay on track and enjoy the movie, but it’s also nice to support the local vendors.
Movies begin at dusk.
Bring a flashlight so you can make sure you’ve packed everything up and have light back to your car.

Come out and enjoy a wonderful evening in Tahoe City out underneath the stars and watch a free movie on the beaches of Lake Tahoe!
