Tahoe City Summer Movies on the Beach 2017 Schedule Our summer weather has been wonderful and our evening temperatures are perfect to watch one of the free, outdoor, summer movies on the beach in downtown Tahoe City in Lake Tahoe, California.

If you’ll be in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area this summer make sure to see at least one summer beach movie here in Tahoe City this year.

If you haven’t been to a beach lake-side movie, put this one your summer list of things to do.

Wednesday night movies in Tahoe City is a free, fun thing to do this summer in Lake Tahoe!

The Tahoe City movies will begin at dusk on the beach and this year they will be hosted at two different locations.

New this year will be the showing of the first three movies at the Gatekeepers Museum next to Fanny Bridge, and the remainder of the movies will be at Commons Beach. All movies are on Wednesday night, except for the very last movie, which will be on Tuesday night, August 23.

All of the movies are either PG or PG-13. Here is the 2017 movie schedule presented by the Tahoe City Public Utility District.

Another new this year, a food truck on-site along with Cheri’s Hand-Dipped Ice cream. The fun starts at 7 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk.

July 5, 2017 | The Great Outdoors – (PG) at the Gatekeeper’s Museum
July 12, 2017 | Little Big League – (PG) at the Gatekeeper’s Museum
July 19, 2017 | Fantastic Beasts – (PG-13) at Common’s Beach
July 26, 2017 | The World’s Fastest Indian – (PG) at Common’s Beach
August 2, 2017 | Monster Trucks – (PG) at Common’s Beach
August 9, 2017 | A Dog’s Purpose – (PG) at Common’s Beach
August 16, 2017 | Moana – (PG) at Common’s Beach
August 23, 2017 (last movie is on a Tuesday night) | Batman Lego Movie – (PG) at Common’s Beach

The free summer movies in Tahoe City will be a two locations this year.

The first three movies will be at the Gatekeepers Museum, which is located next to Fanny Bridge across from the Bridge Tender restaurant.
The other location is at Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City.

Here are some Movie Going Tips. Movie Attendees are encouraged to bring the following:

Only low back chairs. If you bring a high back chair you will have to sit on the side, or in the back of the viewing area.
Bring sleeping bags and beach towels if you’ll be on the ground. Remember the ground can and will most likely be damp, so make sure you have the right things to put down on the ground for an enjoyable evening.
Bring blankets and jackets (our summer evening and nights will become cool and if a breeze comes up off the lake things will really cool down fast).
The fun starts around 7 p.m. so come early for food (food truck on site this year) and to watch them set up the movie screen. You’ll enjoy the people watching along with the incredible alpenglow over Lake Tahoe before the movie begins!
You are allowed to bring your own snacks, so if you’re on a diet, you can still stay on track and enjoy the movie, but it’s also nice to support the local vendors.
Movies begin at dusk.
Bring a flashlight so you can make sure you’ve packed everything up and have a nice light to walk back to your car when the movie is over.

Come out and enjoy a beautiful summer evening in Tahoe City out underneath the stars and watch a free movie on the beaches of Lake Tahoe this year!
