Summer Outdoor Movie Schedule Squaw Valley 2018Squaw Valley may be known for it’s world-class skiing, snowboarding, and winter sports, but summer-time is just as much fun to be in Olympic Valley and the greater Lake Tahoe area.  

On Thursday nights in July and August you’ll want to check out one of their FREE outdoor Summer movies at the Village at Squaw Valley.

The free outdoor movies are presented in the Events Plaza at the Village at Squaw Valley and a new movie is presented each week. All movies begin around 8:30 p.m. (dusk) weather permitting.

Summer Outdoor Movie Schedule Squaw Valley 2018

Movie goers are encouraged to:

  • Dress in layers and wear warmer clothing – sweaters and jackets are highly recommended.
  • Bring a blanket.  Summer evenings are cool in Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe!
  • Arrive early to get a good seat.  The movie begins at 8:30 p.m. (Dusk)
  • Bring a small flashlight so you can look around your chair after the movie, or in your snack bag during the movie.
  • Food and Beverages will be available for sale from local vendors
  • Chairs are provided, but if you have a camping chair you prefer (not everyone is comfortable the plastic Adirondack Chairs), bring it along and you can set it up on the outer edges, or back of the viewing area.

Last year we made an evening out of several free events.  We started at the Truckee Thursdays event.  We walked and looked at the different vendors that were lined up on the street.

We  then made our way over to the food vendor area and we had something to eat from one of the food trucks.  I had to have one of those large lemonade drinks, and then we stopped and listened to the music on Main Street by the beer garden.

Since we had started early we were able to head out around 8 and make the free outdoor movie at the Village at Squaw Valley.  We had a great summer evening out, and we were home before 11 p.m.!

Looking for more free outdoor movies on the beach, or lawn?  Check out Wednesday nights at Commons Beach in downtown Tahoe City, where you can enjoy a free movie on the beach all summer long!

With so many fun things to do in Lake Tahoe this summer, you need to plan your vacation now!  Come out and enjoy a wonderful evening underneath the midnight blue sky and bright stars and watch a free movie in Squaw Valley this summer!

It’s back – Gray’s Crossing Tuesday evening concerts.

Looking for a relaxing evening out?  Check out the Tuesday evening free outdoor concerts at Gray’s Crossing this summer.

If you’re not familiar with Gray’s Crossing, it is a 750 acre planned resort community that is tucked away just off I-80 in the north-east area of Truckee, California. 

Gray’s Crossing is a luxury home development with a limited number of high-end

 townhomes.

Grays Crossing Tuesday Concerts - 2018

If you’re a golfer then you may already know that Gray’s Crossing is home to a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course designed by Peter Jacobsen. 

Set amongst the pine trees, mountain meadow and with views of the Mt Rose mountain range and the Northstar ski resort area, this is one golf course and setting you’ll enjoy from start to finish! 

On Tuesday evenings at PJ’s, the restaurant at the golf course, the area turns into a wonderful setting for an outdoor concert.

You can make a dinner reservation and enjoy the BBQ, which offers table seating, or be more casual and bring your blankets and low-back chairs and enjoy the evening on the lawn. 

Either way, you’ll have a fun summer evening out in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area.

Grays Crossing Tuesday Concerts – 2018 Event Details:

  • Tuesday evenings | The show runs from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Where:  11402 Henness Road, Truckee, CA 96161 (at the Gray’s Crossing Club House, Pro-Shop,and  PJ Restaurant area)
  • Make a reservation for PJ’s BBQ Dinner Buffet 530-550-5801. 
    • PJ’s regular menu is not offered on concert nights, so enjoy the special dinner menu. The buffet is available between 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.  Reservations are required for a dining table.
  • Lawn space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. No outside food or beverages. 
    • Walk-up dining is available: Hot dogs, hamburgers and an assortment of wraps and sandwiches, along with a full bar.
  • Cost – Free Admission for Music – Food and Beverage is an additional charge
  • June 19 – August 28, 2018

44th Soroptimist Wine and Restaurant Faire Fund Raiser Truckee June 2 2018It has been a beautiful day here in Truckee with temperatures in the 70’s and these warmer temperatures should be wonderful for the 44th Soroptimist Wine and Restaurant Faire Fund Raiser event this evening  at the Coyote Moon Golf Course in Truckee, CA!

It feels like summer  today in Lake Tahoe – Truckee area and it’s time to celebrate and take in some of our great local annual charity events!

If you love to food, wine, beer, or just enjoy being out at a fun event here in the Truckee area, then the 44th Annual Soroptimist Wine and Restaurant Faire Fund Raising event is one you won’t want to miss!

You’ll get to taste some great wines, beer, and appetizers prepared by local area restaurants and caterers at this years fund raising event presented by the Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner.

This event has something to please just about everyone!  The combination of wine and beer tasting, along with great food, live music and silent auction, along with a raffle is a fun way to kick-off your summer season here in the North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area.

44th Soroptimist Wine and Restaurant Faire Fund Raiser Truckee June 2 2018This annual event always sells-out and will be held at the Coyote Moon Golf Course, which is right before the entrance to the Tahoe Donner community in Truckee, CA.

The Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner will offer goods and services for auction worth thousands of dollars.  

Bring your credit card and check book so you’ll be prepared when it comes time to bid on some wonderful trips, golf and dinning packages, home maintenance, clothing, jewelry, accessories, art, and many other fantastic items.

If you’re not familiar with what the Soroptimist volunteer service organization does in our local Tahoe area and their goals for the community here is their purpose: the Soroptimist group is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women, who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

The Soroptimist organization of Truckee Donner relies on charitable contributions to fund their local Truckee, California programs, which include: local high school scholarships, youth education, women and senior programs.

Wine Tasting – Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner

Today is Monday, Memorial Day 2018 in Lake Tahoe, California. 

It’s a day to remember, respect, and honor those men and women who have died while serving in our U.S. Military Service.

Where I live, American Flags are flying everywhere – homes, cars, boats, piers, and local businesses. 

Each Flag is a reminder on the cost of our freedom.  A proud symbol of our country, but today a reminder of those that have died and have paid the ultimate personal sacrifice protecting, defending, and to keep us safe.

Memorial Day 2018 - Lake TahoeFreedom and our way of life comes at a very high price.  It is something that we should think about not just on Memorial Day, but on each and every day. 

Today, Monday, May 28, 2018 is a day to count your blessings and to remember those that died serving to make this life possible for us.

On this Memorial Day, with each flag you see, take a moment to remember those that have served and have died in the line of duty.

It’s that time of year for the 26th annual Truckee Home and Building Show, this Saturday and Sunday, May 26 – 27, 2018 at the Truckee High School you’ll get the chance to explore, learn, observe, and gather information on the building, designing, remodeling, and get some technology ideas.

The list of exhibitors is extensive and diverse with over 150 displays and demonstrations, there is something for everyone.

If you’ll be up in the greater  Lake Tahoe and Truckee, California area this Memorial Day Weekend and you’re thinking about your Tahoe home and your home project to-do list, this is an event that you should check out!
