Brews, Jazz, and Funk Festival – Squaw Valley, August 10 – 11, 2013

Brews, Jazz, and Funk Festival - Squaw Valley, August 10 - 11, 2013 Get ready to have some fun at the annual two day beer, jazz, and music festival at the Village at Squaw Valley this Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, 2013.  This is a great event to drink some great beer and listen to a wonderful line-up of music, while benefiting the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.

You’ll have two different days to check this great event out, or be their both days in Squaw Valley!  This year the event will start at 2 p.m. and go until 8 p.m.

The cost is a $5 donation to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, and each beer ticket is $4.  You’ll have the chance to taste beers from over forty (40) different breweries.

What a great way to support a wonderful local group and make a fun day out of the donation!

Here is a line-up of the music that is scheduled for both days:

Saturday, August 10, 2013

9th Annual Squaw Valley Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, July 27-28, 2013There is something to be said about looking at fine art and crafts outdoors in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area.

Perhaps it’s the blue skies and sunshine that makes everything seem just a little more special, but what ever it is, you’re going to have a lot of fun at the  9th Annual Squaw Valley Fine Arts and Crafts Festival at the Village at Squaw Valley this Saturday and Sunday, July 27, 2013 and Sunday, July 29, 2013.

You’ll have two different days to check this great event out, or be their both days! This year the event will start at 10 a.m. both days and will go to 6 p.m on Saturday, and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

There will be over 50 professional artist at this years’ fine arts and crafts festival in Squaw Valley.    Come see the Squaw Valley Village that will be lined with fine artists and crafters.

What a great way to spend a great summer day here in Tahoe than by being outside in Squaw Valley  and having a fun day with some of Squaw Valley’s finest shops, restaurants, and artists that have come together for this special event.

Art, Wine and Music Festival - Squaw Valley, July 13 - 14, 2013 Get ready to have some fun at the annual Art, Wine, and Music Festival at the Village at Squaw Valley this Saturday and Sunday, July 13, 2013 and Sunday, July 14, 2013.  This is a great event to sip some wine, see some great artists, and enjoy a day of music!

You’ll have two different days to check this great event out, or be their both days!  This year the event will start at 11 a.m., with wine tasting beginning at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is a $25 donation to the Disabled Sports USA Far West group.  You’ll get a commemorative wine glass and unlimited wine tasting.  What a great way to support a wonderful group and make a fun day out of the donation!

Squaw Valley Free Outdoor Summer Movies – 2013

Squaw Valley Free Outdoor Summer Movies - 2013 Summer is a great time to be Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley, California.  On Thursday nights in July and August check out the FREE outdoor Summer movies at the Village at Squaw Valley.

The free outdoor movies are presented in the Events Plaza at the Village at Squaw Valley and a new movie is presented each week. All movies begin at 8:30 p.m. (dusk) weather permitting.

Squaw Valley Free Outdoor Summer Movies - 2013 Movie goers are encouraged to:

  • Wear warm clothing – sweaters and jackets are highly recommended.
  • Bring a blanket.  Summer evenings are cool in Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe!
  • Arrive early to get a good seat.  The movie begins at 8:30 p.m. (Dusk)
  • Bring a small flashlight so you can look around your chair after the movie, or in your snack bag during the movie.

Last year we made an evening out of several free events.  We spent time over at the free Truckee Thursdays event and enjoyed an early dinner, listened to the music on Main Street at the beer garden and did a little shopping in downtown Truckee before we headed over to the free outdoor movie at the Village at Squaw Valley!

With so many fun things to do in Lake Tahoe you need to plan your summer vacation now!  Come out and enjoy a wonderful evening underneath the stars and watch a free movie in Squaw Valley this summer!

Earth Day in Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley, Saturday, April 20, 2013

Earth Day in Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley, Saturday, April 20, 2013The Earth Day event in Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe is a way to celebrate and promote the region’s unique beauty and how to preserve and protect it.

Saturday will be the largest eco-event in the North Lake Tahoe – Truckee, California area.  The Lake Tahoe – Truckee Earth Day events will take place at the Village at Squaw Valley this Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Admission is FREE.  Transportation on TART (Tahoe Area Rapid Transportation) is FREE.  There will be live music, information booths, a children’s area, raffle, and the Trashion Show.

The Trashion Show is put on by the Truckee High School Envirolution Club.  Each outfit is made by the student and is made out of materials that do not biodegrade easily.  Each outfit is designed to send a message and while there should be some funny outfits, you’ll also learn how you can be more environmentally aware and make better environmental choices!

You’ll also have a chance to recycle electronics, phones, monitors, TC’s, fax machines, sterero equipement, etc… this year.

NO – house hold batteries, tires, furniture, or household waste (paint, aerosol cans etc..)
