Tahoe Donner Fall Festival – 2024

The leaves are turning different shades of color here in the North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area, and that means it is time for the 13th Annual Fall Festival in Tahoe Donner!  

If you don’t have plans for this weekend, have you considered a drive up to Truckee – Lake Tahoe? If your answer is yes,  this Saturday, October 12, 2024 we will have two local events – the Tahoe Donner Fall Festival in the Tahoe Donner community in Truckee, California, and the Made in Tahoe Fall Festival in Olympic Valley for you to check out!

The Tahoe Donner Fall Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northwoods Clubhouse in Tahoe Donner!

There is an admission charge, so check out the pricing information down below.  If you are looking for a no-charge entrance event, check out the Made in Tahoe Fall Festival event.

If you are not familiar with the Tahoe Donner master planned community they do have some private facilities, but this event is open to the public.

Now is the time to get into the swing of the season with pumpkins, seasonal draft beers, BBQ, or take advantage of one of the fun events.

There is typically something for everyone to enjoy.  Even your four legged fury friends are welcome in Tahoe Donner pool to take a dip.  

This is a one of my favorite activities for our dog, as at the Tahoe Donner Fall Festival offers the annual doggie dip (in the pool off-leash, outside of the pool on a leash) as the pool has closed for the season, and this is their chance for a doggie swim before the pool is winterized.

The Tahoe Donner Fall Festival will have arts and crafts vendors so you’ll have fun browsing the booths and checking out the hand-crafted goods and fresh harvest produce.

There will also be a number of activities in addition to the Arts and Crafts Fair, there will be a Beer Garden with seasonal beers, Live Entertainment, Music, a Pumpkin Patch, Kid Carnival Area, Games, Contests, and so much more.

  • When:  Saturday, October 12, 2024, Starting at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Where:  Tahoe Donner Northwoods Clubhouse, 11509 Northwoods Blvd., Tahoe Donner community in Truckee, CA
  • Parking:  Park at the Northwoods Clubhouse
  • Cost:  Tickets are required for entry into the Fall Festival:
    • Adult (Age 16+) Member $5*  Public $10*
    • Kids (Ages 3-12) Member $20 |  Public $25*
    • Infants (Kids under age 2)  Member – Free | Public -Free

    • Day of event will be $5/more

It’s Fall  here in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area and if you missed the Made in Tahoe Spring Festival, here is your second chance to check out the Made in Tahoe Fall Festival – Olympic Valley 2024 on Saturday, October 12, 2024 and Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Village at Palisades Tahoe!

Our Tahoe Fall season is a favorite time of year for me.  Our weather is still great, and the summer crowds are long gone!  while this weekend promises temperatures in the high 60’s, maybe low 70’s, so it will feel like Fall in the shade, so dress in layers and be prepared for a cooler day!

The Made in Tahoe events are a great way to buy items that are either made in the local Lake Tahoe Basin  – greater Truckee area, or they are inspired by our local beauty.

You’ll find this festival is loaded with arts, crafts, exhibits, music, entertainment, and local food and drink vendors, in addition to the Village restaurants, bars, and shops to choose from, and the admission to the event is FREE!

This semi-annual Made in Tahoe event will give you the chance to shop local and enjoy being up here in the North Lake Tahoe area.

It’s a great way to find that special gift for that hard-to-please loved-one, or a way to treat yourself, along with supporting Tahoe artisans and businesses!

Along with shopping the vendors, eating and drinking that you can do, you’ll also enjoy listening to variety of local music all day long!

Need more inspiration?  You’ll find jewelry, paintings, pottery, glassware, clothing, and so much more! You never know what you’ll find at our local fairs and festivals so you won’t want to miss this one.

The Made in Tahoe event will also have a number of local food and beer vendors, so if shopping isn’t your thing to do, but eating and drinking is, then you’ll still have a fun afternoon out!

Did you know during our warmer weather, downtown Tahoe City on the first Friday of July, August, September and October has an open-air Artisan Market? 

This event started after the pandemic, and was a way for artists to gather and showcase their unique works for sale.  Add in some live music, and food vendors and you have a great, small local event!

Art, glass work, jewelry, and other hand-crafted items are some of the treasures you will find at this event.

These monthly events create the opportunity to find unique and special pieces, that capture a moment in time – a place, a season, and for anyone spending time in our area, something to remember your day in Lake Tahoe!

Even if you’re not in the shopping mood, you will enjoy being outside in beautiful downtown Tahoe City.  

After shopping at the outdoor market, perhaps an early dinner, or cool beverage at one of the local restaurants will round out your day.

If you’ll be up here in the greater Truckee – North Lake Tahoe area on any of the following Fridays 7/5, 8/2, 9/6, or 10/4, don’t forget to check out the First Fridays Outdoor Artisan Market in downtown Tahoe City from 3-8 p.m.

August is here, and some of our best summer days are still to happen here in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee, CA area

This weekend the 7th Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival – Olympic Valley 2024, an outdoor music festival will return! 

While it is not too late to make a day trip, or spend the weekend, now is the time to make your plans.

We have a number of fun, outdoor events still to happen in our area, and the annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival at Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley, California this weekend with two days of live music is one of them!

What could be better than kicking back, enjoing an ice cold beverage, and listening to some great live Reggae music with our incredible rugged mountains as your viewing background?

Big Bluegrass Concert Tahoma -2024

If you enjoy listening to Bluegrass music, then you’ll want to add this event to your summer calendar!

On Friday, August 2, 2024 on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe at the Sugar Pine Point State Park  in Tahoma, California will be the Big Bluegrass Benefit Concert!

The Sierra State Park Foundation is presenting this benefit fundraising concert for the upkeep at Sugar Pine Point State Park.

Craig and I have gone to this event in the past and we had a great time!  

Our hot summer days have given us beautiful summer evenings!  Who doesn’t enjoy being outdoors and sipping on a cold beverage, while listening to some fantastic live, Bluegrass music?

The setting for this concert is amazing as the stage is set in front of the Lake Tahoe shore line.  Behind the stage are our beautiful mountains, and pine trees.  One the sun goes behind the mountains, our sky will turn into shades of pink, orange, and the sky will turn into amazing shades of blue, until the stars come out!

If you’ll be up in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area on Friday, August 2, 2024, and you are looking for an enjoyable evening out, this event is for you!

Sugar Pine Point State Park, Big Band Concert

When: 

  • Friday, August 2, 2024
  • Doors open at 4 p.m.
  • Event: Music starts at 5 p.m. – until dark

Where: 

  • Sugar Pine Point State Park, Tahoma, California
  • Lake-side for this event, along with parking.
  • 7595 Hwy 89 S., Tahoma, CA

Cost: 

  • $45/Adult Pre-Sale On-line, $50/Adult at the door, pre-sale pricing subject to change, to purchase tickets and more information click here
  • Please no pets at this event.
  • Ticket Price does not include parking fee – see parking for more information. Parking is $10

Parking: $10/vehicle (you can pre-pay for parking too) | If you bike, or walk in there is no additional parking fee.  If you pre-pay, you must print your ticket and bring it with you to show to the kiosk.  No ticket, you’ll end up paying for it again.

Food and Beverages available for Sale (no outside food or drinks): 

  • Big Blue Q
  • Wine
  • Beer

Concert goers Tips:

  • Bring your low-back chairs (if you bring high-back chairs, be prepared to be at the back, or on the sides).  The concert area is on the lawn that slopes down towards the lake.  Low-back chairs, or beach blankets will be best in this area.
  • Bring blankets and bring/wear something warm (dress in layers). Our days are hot, but in the shade, or if a breeze come up off the lake, you’ll want something warmer to wear as temperatures can drop quickly in our area.
  • Bring a Flashlight – There are no night street lights.  When the concert is over, you’ll want to find your way back to your car.  You’ll also want to check your area before you leave it to make sure your have all of your personal belonging so bring a flashlight!
  • Parking – Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged, or use public transportation.
