Did you know during our warmer weather, downtown Tahoe City on the first Friday of July, August, September and October has an open-air Artisan Market? 

This event started after the pandemic, and was a way for artists to gather and showcase their unique works for sale.  Add in some live music, and food vendors and you have a great, small local event!

Art, glass work, jewelry, and other hand-crafted items are some of the treasures you will find at this event.

These monthly events create the opportunity to find unique and special pieces, that capture a moment in time – a place, a season, and for anyone spending time in our area, something to remember your day in Lake Tahoe!

Even if you’re not in the shopping mood, you will enjoy being outside in beautiful downtown Tahoe City.  

After shopping at the outdoor market, perhaps an early dinner, or cool beverage at one of the local restaurants will round out your day.

If you’ll be up here in the greater Truckee – North Lake Tahoe area on any of the following Fridays 7/5, 8/2, 9/6, or 10/4, don’t forget to check out the First Fridays Outdoor Artisan Market in downtown Tahoe City from 3-8 p.m.

June 2024 is here and our local summer-time outdoor events are beginning!  

Our local events in the greater North Lake Tahoe and Truckee area are the best, and the 14th Annual Tahoe City Art by the Lake event which will be held in June of this year (it was in August last year), so mark your calendars for this event!

As the Tahoe area works to show-off artisans, this event will give you the opportunity to see over thirty (30+) vendors showcasing a wide variety of custom, handcrafted items. 

In my opinion, one of the best features of this event is the location!  The fine arts and crafts booths are located next to the edge of Lake Tahoe providing a great viewing and unique shopping experience!

Once again the Boatworks Mall in downtown Tahoe City will be the host for this event, and I can’t think of a better way to enjoy an afternoon than by checking out what the professional artists and craftspeople have made.

While summer doesn’t officially begin until the 20th of June, this event on June 14, 15, and 16th, 2024 is going to make you feel that summer is already here!

At this year’s art festival you’ll find art, glass work, jewelry, photography, ceramics, and other hand-crafted items.

I have found that as time passes by, the items that I have purchased while traveling, and at these North Lake Tahoe – Truckee, festivals, fairs, and other special events in our area has become a marker of the season, and has become a treasured memory for me.  

After shopping at the arts and crafts fair, perhaps a late lunch, or cool beverage at one of the local restaurants will round out your day.

The Tahoe City Art by the Lake event is free to the public.

It’s is hard to believe that August is more than half over, and our hot summer days are slipping away.

Our local events and Tahoe fun are still going on in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area!

This weekend is loaded with things to do, which includes the 13th Annual Tahoe City Art by the Lake event.

The  special event will give you the opportunity to see over thirty (30+) artisans showcasing a wide variety of custom, handcrafted items. 

One of the things that makes this a special event is its location.  The fine arts and crafts booths are located next to the the edge of Lake Tahoe providing a great viewing and shopping experience!

In addition to the vendors, Robbie Gade, guitarist will play each day from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Feeling hungry?  Pints and Pies Pizza Company will have light bites on-site for purchase.

The next two weekends are loaded with things to do, which include the 10th Annual Tahoe City Art by the Lake event.

Two weekends of the fine arts and crafts booths at the edge of Lake Tahoe this weekend August 17-19, 2018 and next weekend August 24-26, 2018!

Once again the Boatworks Mall in downtown Tahoe City will be the host for over forty (40) professional artists and craftspeople!

Before fall arrives in our area, I can’t  think of a better place to enjoy your late summer days than by being here in Tahoe City!
