On Friday, August 2, 2019 on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe at the Sugar Pine Point State Park  in Tahoma, California will be the Big Bluegrass Benefit Concert!

The Sierra State Park Foundation is presenting this benefit fundraising concert for the upkeep at Sugar Pine Point State Park.

They have three popular Bluegrass Bands lined up to play at the event:

Craig and I went last year and really had a great time, and we’re planning on going again this year!

What a great way to spend a summer evening than by being outdoors and sipping on a cold beverage, while listening to three wonderful Bluegrass bands surrounded by the beauty of our mountains, towering pine trees, and Lake Tahoe.

If you’ll be up in the greater North Lake Tahoe – Truckee area on Friday, August 2, 2019, and you are looking for an enjoyable evening out, this event is for you!.

Sugar Pine Point State Park, Big Band Concert

When: 

  • Friday, August 2, 2019
  • Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
  • Event: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Where: 

  • Sugar Pine Point State Park, Tahoma, California
  • Lake-side for this event, along with parking.
  • 7595 Hwy 89 S, Tahoma, CA

Cost: 

  • $20/Adult Pre-Sale On-line, $25/Adult at the door to purchase click here
  • $10/Children 6-12 years
  • Under 5 years – free
  • Please no pets at this event.
  • Ticket Price does not include parking fee – see parking for more information.

Parking: $10/vehicle (you can pre-pay for parking too) | If you bike, or walk in there is no additional parking fee.  If you pre-pay, you must print your ticket and bring it with you to show to the kiosk.  No ticket, you’ll end up paying for it again.

Food and Beverages available for Sale (no outside food or drinks): 

  • Cheri’s Hand Dipped Ice Cream
  • Big Blue Q
  • Exquisite Grill
  • Beer – Sierra Nevada Brewing Co partnered with Alibi Brewery

Concert goers Tips:

  • Bring your low-back chairs (if you bring high-back chairs, be prepared to be at the back, or on the sides).  The concert area is on the lawn that slopes down towards the lake.  Low-back chairs, or beach blankets will be best in this area.
  • Bring blankets and bring/wear something warm (dress in layers). Our days are hot, but in the shade, or if a breeze come up off the lake, you’ll want something warmer to wear as temperatures can drop quickly in our area.
  • Bring a Flashlight – There are no night street lights ,so when the concert is over you’ll want to find your way back to your car and check your area before you leave it, so bring a flashlight.
  • Parking – Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged, or use public transportation.  They will also be running a free shuttle from the campground parking lot from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to the venue.

Sugar Pine Point State Park, Big Band Concert, Tahoma, CA Sept 6, 2015If you enjoy listening to music outside and you’ll be on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe this holiday weekend don’t forget to check out the free, outdoor, Big Band Jazz concert at the Sugar Pine Point State Park at the Ehrman Mansion in Tahoma, California. While the concert is FREE, there is a parking fee of $10 per car.  Ff you are walking, or riding your bike, there is no charge.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a picnic, low-back chairs, blankets, wear something warm, and be prepared to have some late summer fun.

If you’ll be up in the greater Tahoma, Homewood, Tahoe City, or greater North Lake Tahoe area on Sunday, September 6, 2015, and are looking for an enjoyable evening listening to the music of CHOPS Big Band with the beautiful setting of Lake Tahoe, pine trees and majestic Sierra Mountains as your back-drop this event is for you!.

The Sugar Pine Point State Park Big Band Concert in Tahoma, CA is a fundraiser for the West Shore Association.

The West Shore Association is a non-profit group of local businesses that promote the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Each year the West Shore Association puts on local community events, such as the Memorial Day Lake Tahoe Opening Events weekend, the Sea Plane Splash in event in Homewood, and now the popular Big Band Jazz Concert in the park event, closing out the summer season on Labor Day weekend.

Here are the event details:

Sugar Pine Point State Park, Big Band Concert

When: Sunday, September 6, 2015 gate open at 4:30 p.m. for picnics, and the concert begins at 5 p.m.

Where: Ehrman Mansion, Sugar Pine Point State Park, Tahoma, California (Lake-side for this event, along with parking.)

Cost: Free admission to the concert, but parking is $10/car (Please no pets at this event.)  If you’re on a bike, or walking into the park there is no fee.  

Bring a few extra dollars to put into the hat when it is passed around.  Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and accepted at the event.

Sugar Pine Point State Park, Big Band Concert, Tahoma, CA Sept 6, 2015Our Tahoe area weather forecast for the 2015 Labor Day weekend should be sunny, but with daytime temperatures only in the mid 60’s to low 70’s you’ll want to make sure to wear layers and have something warmer to wear if the wind comes up, or if you find yourself in the shade.  

At nights our temperatures are really cooling down, and are now dropping into the low 30’s, so be sure to wear layers, and bring along a warmer jacket and blankets for the outdoor concert at Sugar Pine Point State Park. 

The Free Big Band Jazz Concert this Sunday will take place down by the Ehrman Mansion on the big lawn area, so come early to get a good spot.

Free Concert in Tahoma, CA Saturday, July 5, 2014The 4th of July weekend has been loaded with a number of free events.  Hopefully you’ve added the FREE concert tonight, Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 pm. at the Marie Sluchak Park in Tahoma, California onto your list of things to do while you’re here!

The “Way Out West” will be there to play all of your Country Music favorites from the past to the present.

This band has it all and will be fun entertainment for the entire family.  If you’ll be on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, or down near the Tahoma area, this will be an enjoyable event for everyone.

Our day-time temperatures have been in the mid-80’s, and while it will be warm and comfortable at the beginning of the concert, in the shade as the evening wears on it may be cooler by the end of the performance, so plan ahead and bring along a light jacket for later.
